Nestled deep in the heart of the breathtakingly beautiful Dorset countryside, lies a hidden gem of place that goes by the name Axnoller.

This magnificent private estate in Beaminster features three stunning private houses sheltered within 100 acres of land available to hire forspecial occasions, including weddings and parties.

Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the estate has already caught the eye of numerous high profile personalities, including actor Sean Bean, TV presenter David Walliams, comedian Jack Whitehall and chef Paul Ainsworth.

The site that West Axnoller Farm occupies was originally a medieval settlement of some 14 houses. Being the source of the River Axe, a settlement has existed at the site for centuries.

Local folklore suggests that Axnoller House itself was originally one of the six manor houses of Beaminster; its origins certainly date back to 1767. More recently, West Axnoller Farm was a dairy farm – when current owners Andy and Alo Brake came upon it in 2004, it was disused and largely derelict.

They bought it and slowly but meticulously converted its disused barns into three fabulous houses with their own private indoor pools, steam rooms, saunas and gyms.

Alo Brake, who runs Axnoller, has a background in the financial markets, where she was used to staying at the world’s loveliest hotels. What she wanted to create at Axnoller was a blend of the luxury and service that one gets in those kinds of places with the privacy and intimacy of a private house rental.

Of the three properties, there’s no question that Axnoller House is the jewel in the crown. Showcasing an eclectic mix of contemporary and antique décor. The vibe is definitely eclectic across the five en suite bedrooms, however the emphasis is on luxury throughout.

Up to 34 guests can be housed across the three different buildings, which boast private pools, steam rooms and saunas, and even hot tubs under the stars, so guests can truly experience total decadence and relaxation.

A stay at Axnoller is a bespoke affair – guests are encouraged to treat the estate astheir own, and are offered a menu ofservices from spa treatments to in-house dining.

When it comes to planning the perfect wedding, the same applies. With a vast estate to play with, and a purpose-built barn and marquee already in place at Axnoller, it’ssimply a case of discussing your specific requirements and putting your spin on your dream day.

As many as 250 guests can be accommodated in one room and, with just horses and sheep for neighbours there is no curfew.

Axnoller is particularly proud of its first class and experienced on-site team, to whom you can totally entrust your precious day “I want my guests’ experience to be far betterthan staying at a luxury or boutique hotel and I would like to deliver value for money,” explains Alo.

“Every stay is entirely bespoke, but we love that the one constant is that everyone wants to come back.”
