MORE than 500 people attended Bournemouth’s first ever Indian Food Festival.

The event was organised and hosted by Indo UK Shopping Hub and the numbers of attendees ‘far succeeded’ the footfall expected.

Among those in attendance was the Mayor of Bournemouth, Councillor Anne Filer, who came with her consort, Alderman Michael Filer.

The Mayor was ‘in awe’ and enjoyed tasting the variety of dishes from the Indian cuisine, while also awarding six children for the drawing competition.

This was held as part of the food festival and the theme was Easter, with the festival taking place on Easter Sunday.

Bournemouth Echo:

Fifteen food vendors were present at the festival, offering more than 50 varieties of dishes.

There was also a free Easter egg hunt and arts and crafts table, which were a hit among the children who came.

A spokesperson for the organisers said: “We are so touched by the warmth we received for this event that we can’t wait to bring more.”
