A BOURNEMOUTH business was fined £700 after being caught fly-tipping on CCTV.
A business from the Bournemouth area was issued with fixed penalty notices amounting to £700.
The business was captured on CCTV depositing several bags of construction waste and building foam in another company in Melksham's recycling bins, without permission.
Cllr Nick Holder, cabinet member for highways and street scene for Wiltshire Council said: “We're committed to tackling fly-tipping here in Wiltshire, but we also need help from the public to catch offenders.
“I would like to thank the people who reported these incidents to us as they helped us to trace the offenders, and they are eligible for a reward as a result.
“As set out in our business plan, we have a clear commitment to tackling fly-tipping in Wiltshire.
“Thanks to our investment in extra officers and equipment such as cameras, we have already reduced fly-tipping in the county from 7.4 incidents per thousand residents to 5.1 incidents, and we are focused on continuing this trend.
“These fines send a clear message to anyone thinking of fly-tipping in our beautiful county - we will fine or prosecute if you are caught dumping rubbish illegally in Wiltshire.”
