THE Met Office has issued a flood warning for areas around the River Avon.
River levels are reported to remain high on the Lower Hampshire Avon due to high groundwater levels.
Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Avon, with low-lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around tributaries between Ringwood and Christchurch.
Heavy rain is expected for the weekend, with the forecast for heavy showers from April 27 to April 28.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “Please avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk, cycle or drive through flood water."
The Met Office said it will continue to monitor the weather and will send an update if the situation changes.
