When Jackie and Mener Tsitsis discovered the charm of Heathfield House, it was love at first sight.

“We just couldn’t resist. It was unloved but there was something magical about it. We are now so proud we can share its beauty with others looking for that somewhere special to escape the world.” One year ago the couple discovered the tired manor house and, with a photo from the 1920s showcasing its original features, they set to work on lovingly restoring it, keeping the spirit of its past, taking inspiration from its extraordinarily beautiful surroundings and adding contemporary features to bring it back to life.

Today, after a £2m renovation, Jackie and Mener’s labour of love is open to guests who are searching for a luxurious country retreat with a difference.

Set in the heart of the New Forest National Park within a stunning 15-acre estate, Heathfield House is a 12 bedroom luxury home available to hire exclusively for the ultimate countryside getaway: perfect for special family celebrations, a dash from the city with friends or even a business retreat.

Fully equipped with a top of the range kitchen and even conferencing facilities, guests can choose to be left along with no interruption to connect and celebrate with the with the people who matter most, making the experience less intrusive than a traditional hotel.

However, for those who enjoy being pampered, there is a choice of catering options including everything from buffets to silver service, hog roasts or mobile pizza options.

For those who wish to be a little more active, the nearby coastline offers walks, sailing and other watersports.

Closer to home, the New Forest National Park, is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty and boasts a number of country pubs, horse-riding, bike-riding and walking trails, while the naturally landscaped grounds of Heathfield House’s own open parkland have been cultivated since the 18th century to offer a timeless place to be close to nature.

There, the friendly estate manager can help to organise a host of exclusive activities such as archery, shooting, champagne tasting, or murder mystery evening to make the stay a personalised experience.

Jackie, explains: “The idea behind Heathfield House came to us when we realised there was a gap in the market for exclusive homes to hire. We wanted to shake up outdated concepts of luxury and exclusivity.

“We had driven past the property so many times and when it was up for sale, we had to have a look. It was very cold and unloved but we could see past its appearances. We stripped everything right back and set about bringing it back to its former glory enhanced with modern facilities and technology.”

The couple explained they took great care not to over-run the original charm of the early 19th century manor house, which also boasts a rich history. It was owned by Lady Bingham in 1860, whose husband was Napoleon’s jailer and even later taken over by the RAF to house pilots in the Second World War.

“We have a photo of the house from the 1920s which we referred back to at every step of the way. Its history is what has given the country house a unique character.”

The estate itself consists of Heathfield House, as well as Magnolia Cottage and The Coach House, which can be hired separately or as part of the main house.

Jackie was behind the luxury interiors of the main house, comprising a grand entrance with a galleried staircase, 12 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a series of sitting rooms, sun-filled breakfast room, elegant dining room, log-fired living room and a basement games and cinema room.

Contemporary comfort and luxurious touches combine with period features, unique artworks and thoughtful additions to surprise and delight.

The elegant living spaces, scattered with books, provide warm and welcoming areas to gather together as well as cosy corners for more private moments.

Jackie, said: “Everything has been considered. Our aim was to create a warm and welcoming home from home in this special part of the world for people to make memories with their loved ones.”

Heathfield House is also the perfect luxurious environment for all kinds of small conferences and team building events, allowing space for up to 24 delegates.

To help meetings run smoothly the manor house is set up with VOIP telephony, conference calling facility, AV facility and full WIFI.

Jackie, added: “We are so proud and now we want people to go there, relax, take a deep breath and feel very special.”
