POLICE seized cars for having no insurance and reported speeding drivers to court after carrying out checks in Bournemouth.
Officers from the Dorset Police No Excuse team stopped vehicles in Richmond Park Road and Victoria Place in Bournemouth on Tuesday.
Drivers of a Jaguar XF and a Citroen van were caught at 47mph and 40mph respectively and a Mazda 323 and a BMW 330 were seized for no insurance.
The BMW driver told officers he has never insured the vehicle and added: ""I thought it automatically swapped over from my other car."
As officers returned to Poole they recorded a Suzuki Berlingo travelling at 68mph in a 50mph limit on the Dorset Way. Before they could stop him he then traelled at 48mph in a 30mph limit on Old Wareham Road.
A police spokesman said: "The driver is already on nine points so was reported to court. He also tried saying it was our fault he was speeding because he was worried we were tailgating him. Our DashCam shows otherwise."
