EXACTLY 140 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Dorset over the last 24 hours, latest figures have revealed.

Data from the government detailed how 140 people tested positive in the county in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on October 27. 

In the BCP area, there are now 91 cases, meaning 3,357 residents have tested positive since the beginning of the pandemic.

The rolling rate of the virus in the BCP Council area is 200.8 per 100,000 people.

In the Dorset Council area, 49 people tested positive which has increased the total number of cases to 1,782.

The rolling rate is 101.7 per 100,000 people.

Further afield in the New Forest, 19 people have tested positive, with the total now standing at 1,056.

The rolling rate in the New Forest is 90 per 100,000 people.
