A TEENAGE boy arrested on suspicion of rape and attempted rape has been released under investigation by police.
As report, Dorset Police received a report that a 17-year-old girl had been raped near Boots in Commercial Road, Bournemouth, at around 4.30am on Wednesday, October 28.
The girl had been with another teenage girl at the time and both of them are receiving support from specially-trained officers.
A cordon was put in place at the town centre location for investigations to be carried out, including by forensic scenes of crime officers.
A 17-year-old boy from Bournemouth, who detectives said was known to the 17-year-old girl, was arrested on suspicion of rape and attempted rape on October 28.
Providing an update on the afternoon of Thursday, October 29, a Dorset Police spokesperson said the boy had been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
