The Artisans’ Bazaar at Sculpture by the Lakes, Dorchester features more than 80 curated displays of artwork across a range of artistic mediums and techniques, from glasswork to pottery, painting to textiles, wood carving to weaving, leatherwork to jewellery making.

The event takes place online only during the lockdown period, with an online store where visitors can purchase items from the event via a virtual shopping experience, with live virtual tours taking place through Zoom, FaceTime or Skype. Once the lockdown restrictions are lifted, the event will continue live at the sculpture park.

The Tenors Unlimited Christmas Show takes place in the concert hall at Lighthouse, Poole this month, when the group will be joined by multi-award winning local choir Sing People Sing. The 'Rat Pack of Opera’ are back in town with a special festive set that ranges from Nessun Dorma and The Pearl Fishers duet, to Silent Night, O Come All Ye Faithful and their very own Christmas chart topper Who Is He?

The Royal Ballet celebrated Peter Wright’s 90th birthday with his much-loved production of this beautiful classical ballet, danced to Tchaikovsky’s magnificent score. Recorded in 2016, the performance is being screened in a socially distanced event at the Regent Centre in Christchurch with performances at 2.30pm and 7.30pm on December 10.

Young Bournemouth artist William Porter is holding his first solo exhibition this month. Called ‘Colour over Covid’ this celebratory collection of work promises to be a bright and cheery tonic during these challenging times.

Painted during the first Covid-19 lockdown and the sombre months that followed, the works burst with colour and a positivity that reveals the power of the human spirit in the darkest times.

William, who graduated with a B.A Honours degree in Fine Art from the University of the Arts, London (Wimbledon), works from his own studio space at the site on Haviland Road, Boscombe. On December 11 and12, from 4pm to 7pm, the work will be on show at two socially distanced viewings.

He’s promising an hour-long extravaganza of music and song with loads of laughter and bags of festive fun – a Christmas treat for the whole family.

The show, which has also been written by Chris, features a host of familiar friends from the world of pantomime and a story in which we find out what happens to them after their panto story ends. Will Cinders get to her next ball? Will Humpty Dumpty pull himself together again? Can they all live happily ever after?

BOURNEMOUTH SYMPHONY CHORUS CAROL CONCERT

Directed by Gavin Carr, Bournemouth Symphony Chorus present a wonderfully festive programme of carols including all-time favourites such as O Come All Ye Faithful, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Silent Night, Ding Dong Merrily on High, the traditional Sussex Carol, Shepherd’s Pipe Carol by John Rutter, Carol of the Bells and the familiar Sans Day Carol (The Holly & the Ivy).

The Chorus will be joined by Bournemouth Symphony Children's Choir and Youth Chorus, directed by Victoria Gray, with organist Sam Hanson and there are two performances, at 5.30pm and 8.30pm.
