NEW Cherries defender Lloyd Kelly admitted his desire to hit the ground running in the Premier League.
Snapped up from Bristol City for a reported £13million, the 20-year-old stressed his determination to “show what I can do” before the start of next season with Eddie Howe’s men.
Expected to be part of Aidy Boothroyd’s England under-21 squad for the European Championship this summer, Kelly is looking forward to stepping up to England’s elite club level.
He told afcbtv: “It’s my responsibility to come back and show what I can do.
“I feel like that’s what I’m going to do. I’m looking forward to starting this new season, meeting the boys and getting to know my way around the place, so it should be interesting.”
He added: “Of course there’s going to be things that I still need to learn.
“I’m still young and developing as a player but at the same time I feel like this is probably the best place for me to develop those skills, especially being around a Premier League team and playing Premier League sides.
“I feel like it will speed up that process a bit more.”
