ON THIS DAY – MARCH 27, 2004
CHERRIES boss Sean O’Driscoll was in such buoyant mood after watching his side produce an excellent display at Rushden he declared it an “almost perfect day.”
O’Driscoll was more than happy to see Brian Stock, James Hayter and Warren Feeney seal a comprehensive 3-0 win.
He said: “I thought we were terrific. We passed the ball well, created chances and gave Rushden problems all over the pitch. We kept a clean sheet as well so it was almost a perfect day.
“We missed a few chances in the first half but we kept plugging away. We were well worth a 1-0 half-time scoreline and then came out in the second half with exactly the same attitude.
“We got to 2-0 quickly and the game was gone then. There was no way they were going to score three against us.”
Victory put Cherries sixth in the Division Two table.
